Motilium [Domperidone] is a prescription drug and should be administered only when specifically advised by the doctor to do so. The dosage varies according to the severity of the condition the patient is suffering from. The medication is to be administered regularly without fail in order to get the maximum benefit out of it. In case a dose has been missed, it should be taken as soon as possible only if there is enough time left for the next dose. Double dosing is strictly forbidden.

14) thirst
15) weakness
16) drowsiness

20) stomach cramps
21) tiredness

Motilium [Domperidone] may cause adverse drug interactions when taken simultaneously with other medications. Caution should be exercised while administering the drugs mentioned below in combination with this medication:

1) CYP3A4 inhibitors such as azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors, macrolide antibiotics and nefazodone
2) anti-cholinergic drugs
3) opioid analgesics
4) Anti-muscarinic agents
5) dopaminergic agonists
6) hypoprolactinaemic agents
7) anti-secretory agents or Antacids
8) sodium bicarbonate or cimetidine

Motilium [Domperidone] is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting, especially in patients who are undergoing therapy for Parkinson’s disease using other medications. It also has been found to be extremely effective in pediatric gastroesophageal reflux, which is infant vomiting and gastroparesis, which is a stomach motility condition.

Motilium [Domperidone] should be stored away from light and heat. It should not be stored in an area where there is a lot of moisture. It should be kept out of reach of children and pets.

Motilium [Domperidone] is not recommended to be used in children. It should be used with caution on elderly patients as there are chances that it may lead to hepatic impairment. Caution should be exercised in prescribing this medication to patients who have liver disease, pituitary tumor or are sensitive to Domperidone.
