Description

Infections caused by worms are treated by Vermox (Mebendazole) which is an anti-helmintic drug. Growth of worms in the body can be prevented by Vermox. Vermox (Mebendazole) does also help in treating the intestinal worm infections. The uptake of glucose from the body s inhibited by Vermox which results in loss of energy and death of the worm. Vermox is available as chewable tablets and is a synthetic broad-spectrum anti-helmintic medicine. The content of each tablet of Vermox is 100 mg of mebendazole. The tablets of Vermox are available as orange colored and flavored tablets. It is also available as a white, banana flavored suspension.
Vermox (Mebendazole) is best indicated in pinworms, hookworms, roundworms and whipworms. The length of treatment differs from person to person and should be taken as per the instructions of the physician. A second course of the drug is essentially required for total cure of the worm infestation. Only with the help of a prescription of the doctor is the anti-helmintic medicine, Vermox available. There are chances of transmission of the worm infections from one person to the other person hence, the members of the family too should undergo treatment at the same time to avoid re-infection, up to some extent.
Vermox (Mebendazole) is not to be administered to children younger than 2 years of age. There are no restrictions for the person to take any foods, beverages or perform any activities, while taking Vermox (Mebendazole).
Immediate medical attention is required in case an over dose of Vermox takes place. Taking double dose of Vernox is to be avoided.

How to use

The anti-helminthic medicine Vermox (Mebendazole), can be taken along with or without food and is to be consumed orally or can be swallowed as a whole, chewed or crushed. The dosage of the medicine differs as per the type of worm infestation and from person to person. The number of dose and the duration of the dose is based on the medical condition. A single dose of vermox kills threadworms while the second dose may be required in case of re-infection. Vermox is usually taken for three consecutive days or is taken as directed by your physician, for the other types of worm infestation.
